Clopay Corporation is seeking a Design Engineering Supervisor for our Mountaintop facility in Pennsylvania. You will lead a team of design engineers, guide technical execution, and ensure projects meet quality, budget, and safety standards.

You will use Inventor to model parts, work with production on DFM, and coordinate with sales and marketing for new product launches. A strong background in mechanical engineering and hands-on tooling is essential.

Qualifications

• Associates (min 15 years exp) or Bachelor’s (min 10 years exp) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient in AutoDesk Inventor or similar 3D parametric modeling software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• High mechanical aptitude.
• Working knowledge of hand tools and basic shop tools.
• EIT or PE preferred.
• Working knowledge of motors and electrical control equipment preferred.

Responsabilités

• Supervise design engineers on-site and remotely.
• Support external customers with Sales and Technical Support.
• Process Special Requests beyond standard engineering scope.
• Provide troubleshooting and installation support for field units.
• Maintain engineering standards and drawings via ECOs.
• Extend lines to expand product offering.
• Collaborate on design-for-manufacturing with Production.
• Collaborate with Marketing to launch new products.
• Create 3D models using Inventor for various materials and processes.
• Analyze parts for compliance with codes like ASCE, AISC, IBC, ACI.
• Identify cost reductions and product improvements.
• Participate in design reviews and brainstorming with other engineers.
• Lead projects individually or with a team.

We currently have an opening for a Design Engineering Supervisor at our Mountaintop Facility.

Purpose: to lead a team of design staff, guide technical execution, and ensure project plans, products, or systems meet quality, budget and safety standards

Responsibilities/Principal Duties:

• Supervise team of design engineers both on-site and in remote locations.
• Provide support for external customers in combination with the Sales and Technical Support Departments.
• Complete Special Requests for jobs that cannot be processed within the scope of engineering standards and system programs.
• Provide troubleshooting and installation support for customers and units in the field.
• Maintain engineering standards and drawings through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Complete line extensions to expand product offering.
• Work with Production and Strategic Manufacturing on Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Work with Strategic Marketing and Marketing to effectively launch new product offerings.
• Use parametric CAD (Inventor) to create 3D models of parts and assemblies using a variety of manufacturing materials & processes including sheet metal, structural steel, welding, casting, and roll forming.
• Perform various analysis on parts and systems for compliance to various codes including ASCE, AISC, IBC, and ACI.
• Identify and implement cost reductions and product improvements.
• Participate in design reviews and brainstorming activities with other design engineers.
• Run and manage projects individually or in collaboration with other design engineers.

Job Requirements:
