Job summary

The Siena Group is seeking a Design Engineering Leader for an onsite Chicagoland role. This working leader blends hands-on thermoformed packaging design with team leadership across a small design group that interfaces with tooling, engineering, and manufacturing.

You will engage with customers during intake conversations, participate in part reviews and trial runs, and spend time on the factory floor to ensure manufacturability. Salary range is $140,000–$160,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred in a technical field.
• Must have at least 5 years of thermoformed packaging design.
• Must have at least 5 years working in a highly regulated environment (pharma or medical device).
• Must have proven history of leading a team.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively across a variety of internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers for intake conversations and reviews.
• Review parts and run trials with cross-functional teams.
• Work with tooling, engineering and manufacturing to ensure manufacturability.
• Lead a small team of design engineers and mentor juniors.
