Job summary

Allied Mineral Products in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an Intern - Design Engineering (Summer 2027) to support the Sales engineering tasks with design analysis, calculations, drawings, BOMs, and technical reports. Training on the Refractory Industry and product knowledge will be provided.

You will use AutoDesk Inventor to draft simple pre-cast shapes, convert 3D models to 2D drawings, and assist production with FAI and DFM adjustments.

Qualifications

• Engineering student or AS degree in engineering with relevant coursework.
• CAD skills including 3D solid modeling and 2D drafting.
• Ability to read detailed drawings.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Use AutoDesk Inventor to create simple Pre-cast Refractory shapes.
• Convert 3D models to 2D drawings.
• Calculate material requirements and create BOM.
• Prepare 2D drawings for internal and customer needs.
• Support Production with FAI or DFM adjustments.
• Prepare engineering graphics for presentations and proposals.
• Work on special projects to improve department efficiency.
