Job summary

Silco Fire & Security in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Design Engineering Coordinator to streamline communication between design, sales, and operations, and to maintain project tracking and documentation.

You will support the Design Manager, help with permit packages and submittals, and uphold file storage standards while improving process visibility across fire alarm and suppression design. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring strong organization and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and active projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow established processes and maintain accurate records.
• Strong attention to detail, especially with project documents, submittals, and status tracking.
• Experience with project management software, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook; Procore is a plus.
• Ability to follow up consistently and professionally on open items.
• Basic understanding of construction, permitting, fire alarm, fire suppression, or design processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating internal communication between design, sales, and operations.
• Maintaining design project tracking information and helping ensure milestones are current.
• Assisting with design documentation, permit packages, submittal packages, revised drawings, and approval tracking.
• Following up on missing information required to complete design work.
• Supporting the Fire Alarm & Suppression Design Manager with workload tracking, reporting, meeting preparation, and process follow-up.
• Ensuring design files, records, and supporting documentation are properly stored and maintained.
• Helping improve consistency, accountability, and visibility across the fire alarm and suppression design process.

• Basic understanding of construction, permitting, fire alarm, fire suppression, or design processes preferred.
