PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Engineering team at Viking Pump Inc., a Unit of IDEX Corporation, is seeking a student co‑op to work within our Engineering Department in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Specifically within the Biopharma project group. Student will participate in design/new product development projects to support Growth & Innovation in biopharma pumping segment

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate on cross‑functional & international project teams
• Support New Product Development efforts in biopharma segment
• Aid in testing and data analysis of new product prototypes
• Assist with project research through simulations & documentation
• Create and update models and drawings in SolidWorks
• Maintain part numbers and Bills of Material in ERP system
• Learn additive manufacturing and 3D scanning technology
• Aid in Engineering calculations and documentation
• Other engineering projects as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Major

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
• Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
• General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
