Bolton & Menk is seeking a Design Engineer, EIT, to join our Transportation team in Ramsey.

This entry-level civil engineering role is ideal for a May 2025 graduate or an EIT with 1-3 years of experience, dedicated to our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction activities on transportation projects.
• Perform design computations, preliminary layouts, research, and draft reports and feasibility studies.
• Help prepare project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Support traffic studies related to operations, safety, and access management.
• Assist in designing traffic control devices, signals, signage, lighting, ITS, work zones, and detours.
• Participate in construction observation, staking, documentation, and contractor interactions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience in infrastructure design or construction observation preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD and design software such as AutoCAD Civil3D and MicroStation.
• Knowledge of traffic software like SYNCHRO, VISSIM preferred.
• Willingness to travel during construction season.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Salary Range:

$58,000 - $90,000, based on experience and credentials.
