Job summary

Parker Chomerics is seeking a Design Engineer to collaborate with multiple teams, interpreting customer drawings and developing production-ready tool and fixture designs. You will generate technical reports and review manufacturing capabilities to drive design and part development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required.
• 0–2 years in an Engineering Design environment.
• Proficient with GD&T, SPC, DOE and Six Sigma techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment where products are manufactured at scale.
• Knowledge of standard mechanical/electrical manufacturing processes including metal molding, forming, joining, and machining.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and understand customer part drawings and specifications.
• Create production drawings detailing product specifications and manufacturing requirements per industry standards (ANSI/CES).
• Design tooling for manufacturing products, including molds and dies.
• Maintain and update Bills of Materials, ECN documentation, and traceability of design changes.
• Ensure consistency in product design standards across product lines while accommodating customer requirements.
• Provide technical information for review with product engineering and design review teams.
• Contribute to project milestones: diagrams, layouts, model data structures, material analysis.
• Adopt lean product development and standard engineering practices.
• Make design proposals and presentations to customers.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with cross-functional teams to meet shipping dates.
