Job summary

Tank Connection is seeking a Design Engineer in Parsons, KS to perform structural calculations and design of steel storage tanks and related structures. The role involves reviewing design codes, applying safe and economical design practices, and enhancing automated calculation processes.

The position requires a BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with preference for PE licensure and experience in structural or mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited curriculum required.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
• Experience in civil, structural or mechanical engineering preferred, but not required.
• Experience in structural steel design, building codes and/or tank design preferred.
• Computer programming experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the Sales Department to ensure accurate project quotes.
• Perform strength calculations by using standard design software.
• Develop final product designs, conceptual sketches and details of storage tank systems in accordance with customer requirements, safe manufacturability, and construction.
• Coordinate with various departments to solve technical/design issues that arise during the course of a project and make recommendations for corrective actions and enhancements.
• Assists drafters in generating fabrication drawings/details.
• Constantly improving product design through a review of design codes and references.
• Establish, maintain and update applicable product standards within the company.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
