Job summary
Tank Connection in Parsons, KS is seeking a Design Engineer to perform structural calculations for steel storage tanks and related structures. The role involves reviewing design codes, developing final product designs, and supporting multiple departments to ensure safe, economical, and manufacturable solutions.
Requirements include ABET-accredited BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology, with Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology is required.
- Professional Engineer licensure is preferred where applicable.
- Experience in civil/structural/mechanical engineering is desirable.
- Experience in structural steel design, tank design or building codes is preferred.
- Computer programming experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to Sales to ensure accurate project quotes.
- Perform strength calculations using standard design software.
- Develop final product designs and sketches for storage tank systems.
- Coordinate with departments to resolve design issues and suggest improvements.
- Assist drafters in generating fabrication drawings and details.
- Improve product design by reviewing codes and references.
- Establish and maintain applicable product standards within the company.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
