Job summary

Superior Recreational Products is seeking a Design Engineer to design, document, and innovate our product lines using SolidWorks or CAD, developing drawings, BOMs, and instructions while ensuring compliance with company and customer standards. You will work with manufacturing, suppliers, and project teams, build prototypes, perform design analyses, and contribute to new product development.

Travel up to 25% and potential hybrid work after training.

Qualifications

Engineering degree required (BSME/BS MET or Civil/structural background preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering/Design.
2D and 3D modeling experience; 500 hours+ in SolidWorks; Pro/E/Inventor/AutoCAD helpful.
Experience creating shop drawings and working with document libraries; welding/metal fabrication knowledge; MS Word & Excel required.
Hands-on with manufacturing or prototyping areas; able to interact across disciplines.

Responsibilities

Create 2D/3D models of assemblies, BOMs, and shop drawings using SolidWorks or CAD software.
Build and test prototypes; coordinate with contractors or vendors as needed.
Assist with materials pricing, vendor selection, and project estimating.
Evaluate designs for cost-cutting and implement efficient manufacturing methods (Value Engineering).
Perform calculations for material sizing and selection; ensure standards compliance.
Maintain complete BOMs in the ERP system; help develop design standards.
Support project-specific design processes and maintain engineering documentation.
