Job summary

Weir is seeking a Design Engineer in Belleview, Florida. This onsite role focuses on creating and modifying detailed part drawings and 3-D models using CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred) to meet customer specs and manufacturing needs.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, sales, and R&D to ensure viable engineering solutions, customize pump designs, and support cost estimates. A strong safety focus and BOM management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in CAD and 3D solid modeling tools, SolidWorks preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude with BOM management
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hands-on manufacturing setting, with a strong focus on safety and PPE compliance

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed part drawings and 3-D models using CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred) to meet customer specifications and manufacturing ease.
• Review designs and BOMs for accuracy and manufacturability; mold design and reverse engineering of parts; support urethane machine implementation.
• Collaborate onsite with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, sales, and R&D teams to ensure solutions meet needs; provide technical support.
• Customize standard pump designs and engineering data to fulfill customer requirements; assist sales with cost estimates and mold costing.
• Examine products at various manufacturing stages, investigate design alternatives, and perform engineering analyses as needed.
• Input and revise product structure data to maintain BOMs; use Teamcenter PLM to manage documentation.
• Minimal travel; work location is Belleview, FL; follow strict safety practices.
