Job summary

Aquila Technology is seeking a Design Engineer to join its team supporting a national defense research organization. You will design and document mechanical components and assemblies, perform design calculations, and prepare manufacturing drawings with tolerances, surface finishes, and materials.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical design, ASME Y14.5 GD&T knowledge, SolidWorks proficiency, and the ability to work onsite near Lexington, MA.

Qualifications

• 5 years of Mechanical Designer experience.
• 5 years of Product Design experience.
• 5 years generating fabrication and assembly files.
• 1 year knowledge of ASME Y14 family of standards, and ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• 5 years Mechanical - Electronic Packaging experience.
• 4 years SolidWorks experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and document mechanical components and assemblies.
• Perform design calculations and initiate concepts, layouts and finished drawings specifying tolerances, finishes and materials.
• Prepare engineering release/revision documentation and assist fabrication orders.
• Support fabrication and assembly processes as required.
