Bolton & Menk - Design Engineer, EIT

Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer, EIT, to join our Municipal team in Burnsville. This entry-level civil engineering role seeks an EIT to support our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable, and Beautiful Communities. The role involves assisting project managers and engineers in design and construction activities on municipal projects. The position is open to December 2024, May 2025 graduates, or an experienced EIT with 1-3 years of experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction activities on municipal projects.
• Perform basic design computations, preliminary layouts, research, and draft reports and feasibility studies.
• Help prepare project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Support construction observation, staking, documentation, and interaction with contractors, residents, and city staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience in infrastructure design or construction observation preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD and design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation).
• Willingness to travel during construction season.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Salary Range:

$58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience and credentials.
