About the Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated entry-level Design Engineer to join our dynamic Modular Solutions Division. This role focuses on the design and development of prefabricated electrical distribution systems, modular data centers, and e-houses. The ideal candidate has foundational experience in SolidWorks, particularly in weldment and sheet metal design, and is eager to grow their engineering skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

This position is based out of our West Atlanta, GA facility. While much of the work is on-site, we offer flexibility for remote work depending on task requirements.

  • Candidates will be expected to complete a drawing and Solidworks test during the interview process.

Responsibilities:

  • Create preliminary layouts using AutoCAD.
  • Develop 3D models and detailed fabrication/assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Conduct basic structural simulations of designs.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with engineering, production, and project teams.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts through design refinement and feedback from the production floor.
  • Prepare technical documentation and support for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Generate high-quality renderings for customer and marketing use.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability and willingness to jump in and learn product specifics, end user requirements, question the status quo, and drive positive action.
  • Understanding various code and regulations (NFPA 70, NFPA 75, UL).
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Required Qualifications:

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree
  • 1-5 Years of Solidworks experience
  • 1-5 Years of AutoCAD experience
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to pass drug and background screening prior to beginning employment
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Must be able to work 8 hours per day
  • Experience from college coursework, clubs, internships, co-ops, etc. may be considered toward relevant years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SolidWorks simulation experience
  • Rendering and visualization skills
  • Basic Revit experience
  • Familiarity with CNC router and plasmas cutting equipment and workflows
  • 2-5 Years of creating engineered drawings
  • HVAC design knowledge
  • Experience producing engineering drawings for fabrication
