Job summary

GOTAFE is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Technologist to modify, critique, and release equipment designs per Toyota Automated Logistics specifications. You will collaborate with Automation, Controls, and Commissioning teams to develop 3D layouts and create installation drawings, while ensuring accurate As-Built packages before shipment.

The role requires solid experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, plus strong technical writing skills and familiarity with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Technology preferred.
• Technical writing and documentation experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.
• AutoCAD experience.
• SolidWorks experience.
• Eligibility to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
• Ability to follow information security policies and report security incidents.

Job description

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Modify, critique, and release equipment designs per customer and Toyota Automated Logistics specifications and standards
• Collaborate with Automation, Controls, or Commissioning engineers to create 3D layouts for system studies
• Create detailed installation and layout drawings
• Troubleshoot and modify manufactured equipment, creating red line drawings, updating SolidWorks models and drawings to create As-Built packages prior to shipment
• Communicate schedules, design concepts, and training to personnel at Toyota Automated Logistics and end user facilities
• Create and modify mechanical manuals, preventative maintenance schedules and tasks, and troubleshooting guides
• Attend training and become certified in applicable technologies or programs
• Contribute as a team member within the office, providing help outside of department scope when required
• Deliver projects that meet or exceed customer expectations, developing repeat customers
• Attend meetings and functions on time with active involvement
• Research new components and materials, providing recommendations for adoption into standards
• Coordinate with other engineers or teams to ensure all components are accounted for across disciplines
• Support project installations and post-startup mechanical maintenance trips
• Work onsite at the Custom Automation plant in Greenfield, IN

About You

The company is looking for:
