Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Controls Engineering Intern to support all phases of engineering for our logistics systems. You will design, program, test, and commission components while coordinating with the Controls Lead and engineers to meet project objectives.

The role involves hands-on work with AutoCAD Electrical, close collaboration with the Controls team, and frequent interaction with manufacturing.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting skills are required.
• Strong programming skills are required.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
• Must read schematics/electrical prints and have electrical/mechanical aptitude.
• Eligible to work in USA long term without sponsorship.

Job Overview

A Controls Engineering Intern is responsible for all phases of engineering for Toyota Automated Logistics. The duties include are designing, programming, testing and commissioning. The Controls Engineering Intern will work closely with the Controls Lead and Controls engineers to support the team in the overall project objectives. The Controls Engineering Intern reports directly to the Controls Engineering Manager.

Job Functions

• Work closely with other controls engineers to understand the design and coding requirements.
• Work with engineers on how to create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Must have great communication skills. This will be paramount in internal communication as well as discussions with other engineers and
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Maintain a consistently positive, enthusiastic attitude!
• Keep an open mind; be creative with concepts. Encourage entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among others.
• Anticipate problems and be able to proactively act rather than react.
• Maintain office area clean and organized.
• Complete all administrative tasks/paperwork in a timely manner.
• Works well with engineering and manufacturing teams. Pitch’s in where needed.

Travel Requirements

• 50-75% overnight domestic travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)

Required Qualifications And Preferred Skills

• Currently pursuing Bachelor degree in a engineering discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong Programming skills.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• PLC experience with a class/course or previous internship
• Ability to read schematics/electrical prints
• Demonstrated electrical and mechanical aptitude
• Strong ability to interact with computers
• Good communication skills
• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
