Job summary

MEPPI seeks a design engineer to support the Critical Power Solutions Division in Freedom, PA. You will produce engineering drawings, BOMs and IBs for data center cooling projects, and support manufacturing and customers across product lines.

The role requires a B.S. in mechanical engineering with 3–5 years in cooling systems, plus CFD/CAD skills, ASHRAE knowledge, and strong communication with customers and vendors. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide design engineering drawings and documents for customer orders and support manufacturing.
• Prepare BOMs, IBs, and other technical documents to support orders and production.
• Review test data to verify performance and conformance to specs.
• Offer technical support for customer proposals and product development.
• Assist in establishing cooling product test laboratories and procedures.
• Address customer technical questions and provide solutions.
• Lead design test and prototype programs as needed.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve design issues and enable compliance.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide all design engineering drawings and documents as related to customer orders support manufacturing efforts and provide customer support on all products of the Critical Power Solutions Division CPSD This position must sit in Freedom PA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Support product engineering activities for data center and IT cooling products
• Prepare technical documents ex drawings Bills of Materials BOMs Instruction Book IBs etc required to support order placements manufacturingassembly operations and customer needs
• Review and analyze test data to establish performance standards and to confirm if designs meet functional and performance specifications
• Provide technical expertise and support for the development and review of customer proposals
• Assist in the development and operation of cooling products test labs
• Seek and resolve customer technical questions as required
• Develop and design concepts and work with other Engineering personnel to complete designs
• Assist Manufacturing Purchasing and Quality Assurance with production problems
• Recommend and implement design improvements and cost reductions
• Act as project leader for all design test and prototype programs as assigned
• Work with vendors to resolve any technical design issues
• Coordinate with certification agencies ie UL Intertek to obtain and maintain product compliance certifications
• Travel to customer sites vendor locations andor trade shows to provide product support as required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with 3 5 years of experience with cooling systems or equivalent education and experience
• Advanced knowledge of cooling equipment applications in data centers and commercial applications
• Advanced knowledge of ASHRAE and other cooling standards and their applicability to products and applications
• Advanced interpersonal communication and presentation skills required to communicate with customers employees and vendors
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to read understand and create technical drawings and material
• Ability to work in a team environment and on several projects simultaneously
• Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products
• Computational Fluid Dynamics software and CAD and engineering analysis software
