Job summary

GPT Grain Design Engineer role with Grain & Protein Technologies (GPT) invites a Design Engineer to contribute to the development of new products and the maintenance of existing ones. You will collaborate across functions to solve technical challenges and own engineering activities throughout the product development lifecycle.

The position emphasizes 3D modeling, prototyping, testing, and documentation, with hybrid work in Paris, IL, Assumption, IL or Omaha, NE, and occasional travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent technical, drafting, or field experience will be considered.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to develop practical, innovative engineering solutions.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and mechanical design principles, with experience designing sheet metal components preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to concept development, design, prototyping, testing, validation, documentation, and release of new products.
• Develop engineering solutions that meet customer, manufacturing, quality, and market requirements.
• Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and product documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of existing products through design enhancements, cost reduction initiatives, and quality improvements.
