Job summary

FN America, LLC, a U.S. subsidiary of FN Herstal, is seeking a Design Engineer II in Columbia, SC to evaluate, design, test, and document new products under supervision.

The role supports product line extensions and improvements to existing designs in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have a BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience, strong CAD skills (Creo) and knowledge of GD&T and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in a product development role.
• Ability to author thorough written and verbal status and technical reports.
• Knowledge of firearm processing technologies and design practices.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Design Engineer in feasibility review, detailed development, data package creation and industrialization activities.
• Plans, conducts, and documents hands-on product testing, sometimes extensive.
• Manage individual projects using work-based schedule management tools.
• Collaborate within department and cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements.
• Develops and implements product design improvements.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
