Job summary

TTI Group in Anderson, SC is seeking a Design Engineer I to support New Product Development for outdoor power equipment. You will create 3D CAD models, drawings, and specs from concept through production, under guidance from senior engineers.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, cost targets, and regulatory compliance, perform trade-off analyses, and assist with prototype builds, testing, and product validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0–3 years of design experience in consumer, industrial, or electromechanical products (internship/co‑op considered).
• Experience with 3D CAD (Creo / SolidWorks / NX or equivalent).
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-driven product development environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and specifications to ensure functional performance, regulatory compliance, durability, safety, and manufacturability.
• Analyze problems and provide design trade-off analyses (performance, cost, weight, manufacturability, reliability).
• Apply structured problem-solving methods to resolve design issues, field failures, and manufacturing concerns.
• Learn and apply sound engineering principles while developing technical judgment.
• Design components with consideration for manufacturability, assembly, quality, and cost.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, sourcing, quality, and suppliers to understand processes and constraints.
• Support DFMEA inputs, design verification plans, tolerance validation, and product release activities.
• Communicate effectively with global cross-functional teams.
