Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking an entry‑level engineer to contribute to electric distribution system designs for subdivisions, apartment complexes, and other utility projects. You will collaborate with designers, assist with calculations and drawings, and gain hands‑on experience with CAD programs and tools such as Maximo and BOUD.

The role emphasizes adherence to project specifications, schedule, and quality, with local travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required or preferred.
• 0–1 years of engineering, design, or related technical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CAD or GIS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electric distribution system designs for various utility projects.
• Apply technical knowledge to engineering designs ensuring conformance to specifications, scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages.
• Support preparation of simple designs or portions of larger projects, including calculations and drawings.
• Gain hands-on experience with CAD programs and engineering analysis tools such as Maximo and BOUD.
• Lead design development on smaller projects and support senior engineers on complex projects.
• Apply industry codes and standards (RUS, NESC, utility guidelines).
• Conduct field inspections to gather data and support construction coordination.

What you'll do:

• Work on electric distribution system designs for subdivisions, apartment complexes, mixed‑use developments, and other utility projects.
• Apply technical knowledge to engineering designs, ensuring adherence to project specifications, scope, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages.
• Support the preparation of simple designs or portions of larger projects, including calculations, drawings, and analysis.
• Gain hands‑on experience with CAD programs and engineering analysis tools (e.g., Maximo and BOUD)
• Lead design development for smaller or less complex projects and support senior engineers on technically advanced projects.
• Apply industry codes and standards, including RUS, NESC, and utility‑specific guidelines.
• Conduct field inspections (up to 25–30%) to gather design data and support construction coordination.
• Communicate challenges related to scope, cost, schedule, or quality clearly and professionally.
• Identify information that should be communicated to clients and stakeholders through team leads and project managers.
• Self‑check design work prior to reviews; participate in peer and QC reviews.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned, including fielding work or project documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• 0–1 years of engineering, design, or related technical experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university
• Knowledge of Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) or GIS is a plus
• Strong work ethic and desire to work in a production‑focused environment
• Willingness to travel locally up to 25% as needed for project support
