Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Kingston, NY is seeking a mechanical engineer to create drawings, analyze structural performance, and drive design verification from drafting to prototype.

You will coordinate with Sales and engineering teams, supporting cost-saving design changes and maintaining documentation. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and at least five years of engineering experience with CAD, FEA, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC/C programming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum five (5) years of engineering experience.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings and working layouts of proposed designs.
• Perform analysis of forces, stresses, dynamics and critical performance parameters.
• Follow up drafting, detailing, prototype manufacture and performance evaluation as assigned.
• Participate in project reviews to evaluate progress or investigate problems.
• Maintain Engineering documentation in accordance with standards.
• Cooperate with Sales, System Specialists and other personnel as needed.
• Support cost saving through design or process changes.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
• Ensure all work aligns with safety and environmental standards.
