Job summary

RPM SPG in Clearwater, FL seeks a Design Engineer to assess project requirements, draft HVAC restoration designs, and coordinate with owners. You will visit sites, determine scope, and produce construction documents using AutoCAD.

EI certification is required, PE preferred, and 5+ years in the field. Travel up to 50% and relocation package offered. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. Pro-Core, E-Builder, and iAuditor experience beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of industry-specific experience.
• Experience with construction drafting in AutoCAD.
• EI certification with the ability to obtain a PE license preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge preferred.
• Experience with a programming language (VBA, C#, etc.) preferred.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms (Pro-Core, E-Builder, iAuditor, etc.) preferred.
• Ability to travel out of state up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Conducts on-site visits and assessments to understand project scope and technical requirements.
• Determines scope and designs solutions for HVAC restoration projects via site visits and coordination with facility staff.
• Understands components and functions of existing mechanical systems being altered or renovated.
• Controls design and production tasks to enable HVAC restoration projects.
• Drafts construction documents and generates specifications for HVAC restoration projects.
• Utilizes estimating tools to create project budgets.
• Assists sales with scope reviews and support as needed.
• Creates, maintains, and improves drafting tools and templates.
• Determines estimated costs of HVAC projects including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Ensures smooth transition from design to project execution, providing technical guidance during and after construction.
