Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited is recruiting a Design Engineer for a well-established manufacturing business in Newtown. This role suits either a Graduate Engineer looking to develop their career or an experienced Design Engineer seeking a varied role across the full product development lifecycle.

You will design and develop new products, produce 3D CAD models and engineering drawings, and manage projects from concept through to manufacture.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline
• Experience using 3D CAD software, with SolidWorks desirable
• Good understanding of engineering design principles and design for manufacture
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
• Ability to produce accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with Production and other departments
• Suitable for both graduate-level candidates and experienced Design Engineers

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products and improve existing designs
• Produce 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Manage projects from concept through to manufacture
• Work closely with Production to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Support tooling, jig and fixture design where required
• Resolve technical and manufacturing issues and contribute to continuous improvement activities
