Placements24 is seeking a proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our product development team in East London. This hybrid role focuses on designing, developing, and refining new mechanical products with a strong emphasis on manufacturability and user satisfaction.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to bring innovative concepts to market, oversee prototypes, and contribute to design reviews and documentation throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and basic simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA.
• Excellent communication in a hybrid team environment.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop mechanical components using CAD.
• Conduct analysis (FEA, tolerance) to optimize performance.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Mechanical Engineer to join their product development team in East London. This role is integral to the innovation pipeline, focusing on the design, development, and refinement of new mechanical products. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to bring innovative concepts to market, ensuring robust design, manufacturability, and user satisfaction. The hybrid nature of this role allows for effective collaboration while offering flexibility. We are looking for an engineer with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating high-quality, market-leading products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for new products using CAD software .
• Conduct engineering analysis, including FEA and tolerance analysis , to optimize designs for performance and reliability.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and marketing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Oversee prototype building, testing, and validation, identifying and resolving design issues.
• Contribute to design reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives for existing and new products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development .
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and basic engineering simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA principles.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration in a hybrid environment.
