Qualifications

• Experience owning design and frontend implementation of production web apps.
• Strong product and design judgment for complex software.
• Translate technical workflows into understandable software without losing detail.
• Strong frontend engineering skills: React, TypeScript, modern CSS.
• Fluency between sketches, Figma, prototypes, and production.
• Systems thinking across design and engineering with reusable patterns.
• Learn quickly, work independently, ship unclear problems.
• Strong communication around design rationale and implementation decisions.
• Comfort working on sensitive biological and national-security problems.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and frontend implementation of core product experiences from early flows to production interfaces.
• Collaborate with users, founders, engineers, and computational biologists to translate workflows into usable software.
• Design and build interfaces for data exploration, analytical workflows, and decision support while preserving evidence and context.
• Rapidly prototype concepts for user research, pilots, demos, and customer discovery, refining through feedback.
• Establish and evolve visual language, design system, and component foundations for product growth.
• Bring strong product judgment to information architecture, data visualization, and frontend decisions.
• Improve clarity and usability across onboarding, navigation, and workflow execution.
