The role spans product design and frontend engineering, from sketches to production software, with ownership of the path from idea to working product.

The ideal candidate blends domain curiosity with technical prowess, ensuring charts, workflows, and screens are accurate, trustworthy, and easy to use.

Qualifications

• Experience owning both design and frontend implementation of production web apps.
• Strong product and design judgment with clear hierarchy and polished interfaces.
• Ability to translate complex workflows into understandable software without sacrificing detail.
• Strong frontend skills with React, TypeScript, modern CSS, and component architecture.
• Fluency moving between sketches, Figma, prototyping, and production implementation.
• Systems thinking for reusable interaction patterns and coherent product structure.

Responsibilities

• Own design and frontend implementation of core product experiences from prototype to production.
• Collaborate with users, founders, engineers, and computational biologists on workflows.
• Design interfaces for data exploration, analytical workflows, alerts, and decision support.
• Rapidly prototype concepts for user research, pilots, and customer discovery, refining via feedback.
• Establish and evolve visual language, design system, and components for product coherence.
• Apply strong product judgment across information architecture, data visualization, and frontend architecture.
• Improve clarity and usability across onboarding, navigation, and results interpretation.
