Job summary

FOX Factory, located in the South Fulton area, is seeking a Design Engineering Specialist 1 to lead vehicle program launches within Production Integration. The role requires 3D modeling and hands-on prototype work, translating designs into mass production while coordinating with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• CAD skills and modeling knowledge; SolidWorks proficiency required.
• Knowledge of engineering tools such as FEA, FMEA, and Lean practices.
• Familiarity with modern manufacturing: Injection Molding, Thermoforming, Ultrasonic Welding, Additive/Subtractive manufacturing.
• Knowledge of 3D printing and ability to take a design from concept to physical reality.
• Knowledge of drafting techniques, tools, and principals for precision drawings and models.

Responsibilities

• Manage program launch initiatives from design hand-off through to mass production.
• Carry out design for manufacturability of parts and components, executing design changes and modifications to existing parts and products as required.
• Apply engineering knowledge with aesthetics to design products that look as good as they function.
• Create 3D models for jigs, templates, and components.
• Operate and maintain 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and development assets.
• Assist in building prototype vehicles.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation and coordinate with suppliers for first article feedback.
• Document assembly processes and create assembly prints as required.
• Prepare reports for management across Sales, Marketing, Production, Quality and other departments.
• Develop test procedures and standards as required.
• Manage and support up to five programs concurrently.
• Assist Production with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain company drafting procedures and ASME Y14.5 part prints.
