The Pivot Group Careers is seeking a Design Engineer for our East Lansing, MI area partners. This role focuses on creating and revising 3D models and 2D drawings, ensuring manufacturability, and supporting design changes to reduce cost and waste.

You'll collaborate with production and quality teams, prepare bills of materials, run tolerance analyses, and assist prototype builds. Knowledge of SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD, GD&T, and reading detailed drawings is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proficient in CAD software: SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and create detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience working with production or manufacturing teams.

Responsabilités

• Create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings for parts and assemblies.
• Review designs for manufacturability and suggest changes to reduce cost and waste.
• Work with production and quality teams to resolve design issues on the floor.
• Prepare and maintain bills of materials and engineering change notices.
• Run tolerance stack-ups and basic design calculations.
• Support prototype builds and test new components.
• Update drawings and documentation to match current production.
• Respond to supplier questions about specifications and dimensions.
