Job summary

The Pivot Group Network in Michigan seeks an Applications Engineer to support Hart-area manufacturers. You will troubleshoot production issues, optimize processes, read drawings, and prepare technical proposals while collaborating with sales and production teams.

The ideal candidate has CAD experience, ERP/MRP familiarity, and 3+ years in manufacturing or applications engineering, with a strong engineering background and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering or equivalent experience.
Three or more years in a manufacturing or applications engineering role.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and material specifications.
Experience with CAD software and ERP or MRP systems.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot production issues and recommend changes to improve yield and cycle time.
Coordinate with quality and production on first article inspections and corrective actions.
Maintain engineering documentation such as prints, routings, and bills of material.
Lead or support continuous improvement projects on the shop floor.
Review customer drawings and specifications to confirm the product can be built as requested.
Prepare cost estimates and technical proposals for new and repeat orders.
Develop manufacturing processes, tooling plans, and work instructions for production.
Support the sales team with technical questions and customer visits.
