Weir in Covington, KY or Portland, OR is seeking a Design Engineer for Construction Attachments. Hybrid work arrangement.

The role centers on applying engineering principles, collaborating with customers and sales, and managing product lifecycle to meet quality and manufacturing needs. The candidate will hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years in heavy industry, be proficient in CAD (Siemens NX), and be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years related engineering experience in heavy industry or manufacturing.
• Proficiency in CAD modeling, with Siemens NX preferred.
• Authorization to permanently work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and sales to define design criteria for best-in-class products.
• Apply engineering principles to define, solve, and document solutions meeting quality and manufacturing requirements.
• Manage and maintain system data for mass production products and daily orders, incl. engineering change orders.
• Develop fabricated products with manufacturing teams and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance quality and reduce costs.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to support project success.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally; approx. 2 weeks per year.
• Support safety initiatives and a world-class safety culture.
