Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a mechanical or aerospace engineer with gas turbine experience to contribute to the design, development, and fleet support of heavy‑duty aeroderivative combustion systems. The role involves fast-paced engineering deliverables, including hand calculations, FEA inputs, lab and field test hardware, and data presentation.

The successful candidate will own combustion mechanical deliverables, participate in design reviews, and communicate results clearly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Gas turbine design coursework or experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Complete procedures, design templates, and other standard work methods using hand calculations, FEA, test data and engineering judgement to justify designs against criteria.
  • Design combustion systems to meet overall gas turbine product requirements.
  • Exercise independent decision-making within a defined framework and escalate as needed.
  • Document and present results in formal and informal reviews.

Job Description Summary

A mechanical or aerospace engineer with gas turbine experience who will contribute to aspects of the design, development, and fleet support of GE's heavy-duty industrial gas turbine combustion system aeroderivative products. The role entails fast-paced, diverse engineering deliverables in both hands-on and analytical contexts, including exposure to all elements of the engineering cycle: design hand-calculations, determining boundary condition inputs into FEA analysis, preparation and design of laboratory & field test hardware, and verbal & written presentation of data/conclusions. This role will have ownership of Combustion mechanical-related deliverables for Aeroderivative Combustion Systems.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Complete procedures, design templates, and other standard work methods using hand calculations, FEA, test data and good engineering judgement to justify designs against acceptance criteria.
  • Design combustion systems to meet overall gas turbine product requirements.
  • Have some autonomy to make decisions with a defined framework. In addition, he/she will consult and seek support from more senior members when necessary to accomplish defined work/priorities.
  • Effectively document and present results in formal and informal reviews.
  • Protect the IP rights of the Company and agree to the overall business priorities: 1. Safety, 2. Quality, 3. Delivery, 4. Cost, and with priority ordered as such.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of key business drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation & communication skills
  • Exercise exceptional computer skills
Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.

  • Coursework and/or experience in gas turbine design and combustion design

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $72,000.00 and $108,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.This posting is expected to remain open for at least seven days after it was posted on August 24, 2026.
