Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an experienced engineer to own combustion repair processes for heavy‑duty gas turbines. The role focuses on new product introduction and cost-out tooling, collaborating with AMRT teams in Greenville and Warsaw to roll out repairs and upgrades across the Vernova fleet.

You will partner with design, manufacturing, and service engineering to drive improvements, ensure safety/compliance, and mentor team members. Travel ~10% globally as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/materials engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years in manufacturing, services, repair, or design environment.
  • Lean/quality training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, drive, and industrialize repair processes and technology for the services network in support of repair strategy with focus on GE Vernova heavy‑duty gas turbine combustion repair programs.
  • Lead projects to directly impact productivity and fulfillment efforts.
  • Collaborate with repair development centers and service engineers to test repair processes.
  • Drive standard work through lean practices and value stream mapping.
  • Address fleet issues with Product Line and Customer Service Engineering teams.
  • Maintain safety, integrity, compliance and engineering discipline.
  • Travel to repair centers and customer sites as needed (~10%).

Education

Job Description Summary

As part of the Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology Team, the Combustion New Repair Introduction Engineer is responsible for engineering ownership of combustion components for repair activities, focusing on New Product Introduction and Product Cost Out process and tooling development for F and HA class gas turbines. They will collaborate closely with the AMRT special process development teams in Greenville and Warsaw to deploy technologies for new repairs and upgrade modifications for heavy‑duty gas turbine components across the Vernova Gas Turbine Fleet. This role is also responsible for working collaboratively with Repair Value Stream Leadership, Gas Turbine Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer Service Engineering.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop, drive, and industrialize repair processes and technology for the services network in support of repair strategy with focus on GE Vernova heavy‑duty gas turbine combustion repair programs
  • Lead projects to directly impact productivity and fulfillment efforts
  • Work with Repair Development Center and service center engineers to perform repair process technology testing in the RDC
  • Drive standard work through lean practices utilizing lean roadmaps and value stream mapping while supporting process improvement and continuous problem solving.
  • Work with Product Line and Customer Service Engineering teams to address fleet issues.
  • Maintain a culture of safety, integrity, compliance, and engineering discipline.
  • Understand, model and communicate the AMRT culture and seek ways to integrate it into the broader GE Vernova culture. Assist in developing an inspirational leadership organization that coaches team members in building trusting relationships
  • Lead and inspire the search for high impact engineering projects
  • Collaborate with design engineering and support design reviews for repairs
  • Make personal and team learning a priority
  • Readily apply learnings from diverse experiences to solve business problems.
  • Travel to repair centers, customer sites, and other locations as needed globally (~10%)
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in, with, and/or supporting a manufacturing, services, repair, or design environment
Desired Characteristics
  • Strong mechanical design and analytical background with familiarity in manufacturing processes
  • Experience in Gas Turbine Combustion manufacture, design, or repair
  • Lean training or equivalent quality training
  • Ability and established track record to drive projects to completion
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
