Job summary

Lakeside Manufacturing, America's Premier Stainless Steel Utility Cart Manufacturer, is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will design new products and modify existing lines to meet specifications, production and delivery requirements.

You will create buildable 3D models in SolidWorks, communicate design intent to manufacturing, support DFM through ECRs and CI initiatives, and work with fabrication and assembly to improve quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree in engineering, drafting, or related technical field preferred.
• 1–3 years engineering/design experience preferred; sheet metal experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D and CAD tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and engineering drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and sales agreements to create accurate production drawings in SolidWorks 3D.
• Produce buildable 3D models and communicate design intent to manufacturing teams.
• Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) via Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Continuous Improvement (CI).
• Perform design work using CAD techniques, including material selection and construction methods.
• Prepare sketches, layouts, drawings, specifications and data.
• Collaborate with fabrication, welding and assembly teams to resolve design/production issues and improve quality and efficiency.
