Pivotal Health Solutions in Watertown, SD is seeking a Design Engineer to take ideas from concept to production. You will design, analyze, and document components using SolidWorks, perform FEA, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and sourcing to ensure design intent through production.

Ideal candidates have a 4-year engineering degree or equivalent tech schooling, strong math/physics skills, and a flexible schedule. Travel for site visits may be required; electrical design is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year engineering degree or a 2-year technical degree.
• Strong math, abstract reasoning, and physics understanding.
• Travel to meetings, site visits, inspections may be required.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Responsabilités

• Prepare engineering analysis including preliminary design, life cycle cost and equipment selection.
• Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, and other visual aids.
• Prepare technical construction specifications.
• Perform mechanical engineering duties on devices, engines, motors, machinery.
• Review changes to engineering standards, policies, or details.
• Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards.
• Manage project issues, budgets, and schedules.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Support prototype fabrication and testing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and sourcing to maintain design intent through production.
• Conduct engineering analysis (FEA, thermal, stress) to validate designs.
• Provide technical presentations to customers and staff.
• Function as chief inspector on engineering projects.
• Provide on the job training to new staff.
• Ability to do electrical design is plus
• Performs other duties as assigned
