Job summary

GENESYS Systems Integrator invites a Design Engineering Intern to work with Project Engineers on producing construction drawings and designs for fabrication and installation of industrial process equipment. The role offers hands-on exposure to large-scale projects, collaboration across departments, and practical skill development.

You will gain mentorship, learn to apply engineering concepts, and contribute to process improvements while developing technical and interpersonal abilities in a team

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Inventor; SolidWorks skills acceptable.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office programs.
• Basic understanding of mechanical mechanisms, machine design and fabrication processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to apply engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers in creating fabrication drawings and installation layouts.
• Support mechanical equipment design with adherence to standards and safety regulations.
• Communicate with internal teams across departments.
• Check drawings for accuracy and self-review completed work.
• Visit jobsites for field measurements and assist in installation and start-up as needed.

Job description

As a Design Engineering Intern at GENESYS, you will work alongside Project Engineers to assist in producing construction drawings and designs for fabrication and installation of industrial process equipment. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience on large-scale engineering projects, collaborate across multiple departments, and enhance your technical and professional skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers in creating clear and precise fabrication detail drawings and installation layouts based on project scope and specifications.
• Support the design of mechanical equipment, incorporating relevant standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, including sales, project management, fabrication, safety, and installation.
• Check drawings for accuracy and completeness, including performing self-review of your work.
• Opportunity to visit jobsites for field measurements and assist in installation, start-up, and troubleshooting equipment as needed.
