IBM, Network Engineer; Scientific Atlanta (Cisco), Senior Account Manager

CBTS is searching for a Design Engineer to join our Human-Centered Design Team. You will help build, document, and maintain a robust, accessible design system that empowers teams across the enterprise to deliver cohesive, scalable, and user-centered digital experiences.

Must have worked in a Human-Centered Design group Previously!

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with Lead Design Engineer to evolve a tokenized, component-based design system
• Partner with designers to bridge Figma and code
• Ensure system components align with WCAG and accessibility best practices
• Maintain documentation, usage guidelines, and dev handoff clarity
• Support adoption across multiple product teams and tech stacks

SKILLS & EXPERTISE

• Front-End Development Skills
• Experience with micro frontends, or theming at scale
• Familiarity with accessibility testing tools (WAVE, axe, Lighthouse, etc.)
• Familiarity with design tokens, Storybook, and component libraries
• Understands atomic design, component reuse, and responsive behavior
• Accessibility Expertise
• Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1+ standards
• Experience building and testing accessible UI components
• Familiar with keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, ARIA roles
• Skilled at working with designers to interpret intent and resolve edge cases
• Helps align Figma components with codebase standards
• System Building & Documentation
• Contributes to governance, versioning, and component lifecycle
• Creates and maintains developer-friendly documentation
• Supports usage consistency through education and support
• Comfortable working across teams with varying maturity
• Supports designers, engineers, and PMs in system adoption
• Strong communicator and advocate for system-first thinking

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Experience in healthcare, enterprise software, or regulated domains
• Interest in performance optimization or design tooling (e.g., custom Figma plugins)
