Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of substation design experience in the utility sector.
• Strong AutoCAD experience; ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical substation infrastructure and utility improvement projects.
• Create engineering drawings and design packages using AutoCAD.
• Support projects involving transformers, circuit breakers, protection & control systems, and substation equipment.
• Perform engineering calculations, design reviews, and technical analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, and project management teams.
• Support field assessments, construction activities, and project planning efforts.
• Prepare technical reports, bills of materials, cost estimates, and project documentation.
• Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, quality, and regulatory standards.

I'm currently supporting PG&E on several Design Engineer openings supporting critical electric utility infrastructure projects across Northern California. These positions offer the opportunity to work on projects that directly impact grid reliability, modernization, and long-term system growth.
