Summary of Responsibilities

This role focuses on designing technical repairs and modifications for aircraft, performing engineering analysis, and preparing supporting documentation for internal approval and regulatory certification. You’ll work on technical drawings, specifications, and engineering reports, often collaborating with internal maintenance departments and external clients. Some on-call and operational project support may occasionally be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support aircraft repair/modification designs
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Conduct substantiation analysis for repair designs
• Communicate regularly with internal teams and external customers
• Occasionally respond to operational issues during off-hours

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related)
• OR Associate degree in Engineering (or related) plus 2 years of relevant experience in airline, MRO, or OEM settings
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience with 2D/3D drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of regulatory and industry documents (e.g., FAA/EASA directives, OEM service bulletins)
• Exposure to aviation regulations such as CFR Parts 21, 23, 25, 26, 43, 135, and 145
• Advanced degree or MBA
• FAA DER certification
• Background or training in team leadership
• Familiarity with process automation or basic programming

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or use a computer for extended periods
• Able to climb ladders/stairs, bend, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work may involve outdoor exposure and the use of protective equipment
