Job summary

MACOM in Morrisville, NC, is seeking an RF Pallet Design Engineer to design and test high‑power RF pallets and modules for commercial, aerospace, and defense applications. You will optimize GaN power amplifiers, work across locations, ensure manufacturability, and transfer products to production, with hands-on RF test and design tool experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics or similar field with 3+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 1+ year.
• Experience with RF circuit architecture and RF module system design.
• Experience with high power RF measurements and GaN power amplifiers.
• Familiarity with test equipment such as network/spectrum analyzers and power meters.

Come be a part of MACOM and help advance the next generation of connectivity infrastructure!Overview: The RF Pallet Design Engineer will design and test high power RF pallets and modules for various commercial, aerospace, and defense applications.Roles and Responsibilities:• Work in a multi-disciplinary team across multiple locations to develop single- and multi-stage RF pallets and module products.• Be responsible for designing, simulating, building, and testing power amplifier pallets.• Work with product line managers to ensure customer specifications and timelines are met.• Collaborate with the device design team to optimize GaN high power amplifiers for customer specific applications.• Work with assembly team and product engineering team to ensure first prototypes meet manufacturability requirements and to transfer products to production.• Document, characterize, and release pallet products for high volume production.Note: this is a non-exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities. Other tasks will be assigned during the course of your employment.Job Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineer, physics, or similar field with minimum 3+ years experience, or Master's degree with minimum of 1+ years of experience• Familiarity with RF circuit architecture and RF module system design• Experience in advanced high power RF measurements, GaN power amplifiers, mixed signal systems, and/or power management circuits.• Familiarity with standard test equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, power meters, etc.) and strong hands-on RF test skills.• Experience with EDA/ECAD tools such as Keysight ADS, MWO, Altium, HFSS or similar simulations tools.• Familiarity with MCAD (Solidworks or AutoCAD) or thermal simulations a plus.• Experience with PCB layout and signal integrity analysisOther Special Skills:• Excellent spoken and written English.• Self-motivated with strong planning and organizational skills.• Strong analytical skills and attention to details.• Effective communication skills.• Ability to work within a team environment.EEO:MACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce.
