Job summary

Machine and Process Design is seeking a Design Engineer to support the full design process from ideation to production. You will create new designs, update existing ones, and maintain project BOMs while ensuring alignment with customer specifications and manufacturing capabilities.

The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, documentation maintenance, and occasional travel to customer sites across the United States to support installations and field measurements.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Experience in machine or equipment manufacturing.
• Experience in creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process from concept to production.
• Create and update detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Manage multiple design projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain project BOMs and documentation.
• Ensure design consistency, functionality, and adherence to specs.
• Engage in R&D to improve solutions and processes.
• Participate in testing and validation in the test lab.
• Travel periodically to customer sites across the United States as needed.

Role Overview:

As a Design Engineer at Machine and Process Design, you will support the full design process from ideation to production. You’ll be responsible for creating new designs, updating existing ones, and maintaining accurate project documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), across multiple stages of each project. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your engineering skills while contributing to innovative different solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design process from concept to production.
• Create and update detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain project BOMs and documentation.
• Ensure design consistency, functionality, and adherence to manufacturing and customer specifications.
• Engage in research and development (R&D) to innovate solutions and improve existing systems.
• Participate in testing and validation within the test lab.
• Ability and willingness to travel periodically to customer sites and project locations throughout the United States to support installations, field measurements, project startup, troubleshooting, and other business needs as required.
