Bennett & Pless, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Dallas team. You will design structural systems for diverse construction types in manufacturing, data centers, commercial, and industrial sectors, collaborating with project managers and engineers of record.

Ideal candidates hold a 0–2 year civil engineering background (Bachelors or Masters) and are proficient with Revit/AutoCAD. EIT is preferred. We offer a supportive environment with career development and a strong benefits package.

Responsabilités

• Develop project design, calculations, and assessment reports with PM/Engineer of Record.
• Analyze existing structures.
• Create drawings or specifications for construction and ensure code compliance.
• Coordinate with internal and external team members.
• Review project submittals and shop drawings.
• Provide on-site construction observation during projects.

What You Will Do:

We are looking for a full-time, Design Engineer to join our growing Dallas team. This position will design structural systems for a variety of construction types, in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, distribution, data centers, commercial, industrial and parking.

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with Project Manager/Engineer of Record in the development of project design, calculations, and developing assessment reports
• Performs analysis of existing structures
• Develop drawings or specifications for use during construction and ensures all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations
• Assists in project coordination and meetings with the internal and external team members
• Reviews project submittals and shop drawings
• Visits projects during construction to learn construction practices and to provide on-site construction observation
• Organize field data to facilitate analysis and problem solving
• Interacts with higher level engineers and design technicians.
• Attends client, architect, and contractor meetings
• Learns to engage with potential clients to expand business relationships
• Performs calculations per design specifications and industry standards
• Utilizes Structural Design Software, such as RAM Structural Systems, ETBAS, SAFE, SAP, RAM Elements, and TEKLA
• Shares information across all disciplines to confirm deliverables are compliant with client expectations and established quality standards

What We Are Looking For:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with 0-2 years of related experience or Master’s in Civil Engineering
• Proficient knowledge and experience using Revit and/or AutoCAD
• EIT preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong communication skills are required.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities presented.
• Effective in an entrepreneurial culture, working independently and as part of a team.
