Job summary

InSite Engineering in Wall Township, NJ is seeking a Design Engineer with 2-4 years of civil engineering experience to join our land development team. You will contribute to planning and design on residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

You will prepare plans and calculations, design grading and drainage systems, and develop documents using Civil 3D and AutoCAD, collaborating with PMs and clients from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 2-4 years of civil engineering or land development experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or actively pursuing licensure.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of land development design, grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering plans and designs for residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use land development projects.
• Design grading, drainage, utility, roadway, and stormwater management systems per regulations.
• Develop plans and construction documents using Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Prepare calculations, zoning analyses, cost estimates, bond estimates, and supporting documentation.
• Research and interpret municipal ordinances, land development regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Assist in preparing permit applications and coordinating with local, county, and state agencies.
• Participate in client meetings, municipal meetings, and project coordination with architects and contractors.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observations as needed.
• Manage multiple project assignments while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to support projects from planning through construction.
• Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• 2-4 years of relevant civil engineering or land development experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or actively pursuing licensure.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of land development design, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and site permitting.
• Familiarity with municipal, county, and state land use regulations.
