Job summary

Aegis Worldwide is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to support the design and detailing of piping systems for industrial projects. You will create and revise detailed 2D drawings, interpret P&IDs, and ensure compliance with codes and standards.

The role requires 2+ years of AutoCAD drafting in an industrial setting, strong reading of drawings, and the ability to work with engineers and project teams to deliver fabrication packages on time.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or Technical Diploma in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience in an industrial environment.
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong understanding of drafting standards and dimensioning practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings for piping systems, pipe supports, structural components, and fabrication packages.
• Develop piping support layouts from engineering calculations and design markups.
• Modify existing drawings and prepare revisions based on engineering changes.
• Produce fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings for manufacturing and field construction.
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, P&IDs, and design documents.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, project managers, and fabrication teams throughout project execution.
• Maintain drawing revisions and engineering documentation.
• Assist with equipment layouts, piping isometrics, and general arrangement drawings.
• Support multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Participate in design reviews and implement drawing revisions as required.

• Experience with CADWorx, Plant 3D, SolidWorks, Inventor, or Revit is a plus.
