Job summary

EnVogue International in New York seeks a Design Director for Decorative Pillows to lead creative direction, design and merchandising of pillow collections. You will mentor the design team and collaborate with Sales, Product Development, Sourcing and Production to bring seasonal concepts to production.

The role requires a strong design background, trend forecasting, and leadership to deliver commercially successful assortments for major retailers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in textile, fashion, surface design, fine arts, or related field.
• Experience leading and managing design teams.
• Strong background in hands-on design, merchandising, line building, and trend forecasting.
• Knowledge of color, print, textiles, fabrications, and product construction.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience with retail product development and overseas manufacturing.
• Portfolio demonstrating design leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creative vision and design direction for seasonal decorative pillow collections.
• Translate trends and customer insights into compelling, commercially relevant product assortments.
• Oversee line building, merchandising, color stories, price points, and retailer-specific assortments.
• Direct the development of prints, patterns, embroideries, textures, fabrications, and decorative techniques.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the design team, providing creative direction and overseeing priorities and timelines.
• Review artwork, tech packs, samples, and specifications to ensure design intent and quality are maintained through production.
• Partner with Sales on customer needs, showroom presentations, buyer meetings, and product development opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sourcing and Production to meet design, quality, margin, and target pricing requirements.

About the Role

As the Design Director for Decorative Pillows, you will lead the creative direction, design, and merchandising of EnVogue’s decorative pillow collections. This role combines strong design expertise, trend forecasting, merchandising, and team leadership to develop innovative, commercially successful assortments for major retailers.

You will lead and mentor the design team while partnering closely with Sales, Product Development, Sourcing, and Production to bring seasonal collections from concept through production.

• Strong knowledge of color, print and pattern, textiles, fabrications, and product construction.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong understanding of retail product development and overseas manufacturing.
• Portfolio demonstrating relevant design experience and creative leadership required.
