Camillo Companies in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Design Development Manager to translate Schematic Design into CAD, oversee the transition to outsourced partners for construction documents, and drive continuous process improvements across the design team.

The role requires strong CAD expertise, background in producing construction documents, and the ability to develop efficient home plan designs aligned with company standards and goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, drafting, engineering technology, or related field.
• Six or more years of CAD design/drafting in a residential production environment.

Responsibilities

• Translate Schematic Design drawings to accurate CAD drawings and coordinate with outsourced partners for construction documents.
• Manage the transition of Design Development drawings to outsourced drafting partners for Construction Documents.
• Perform comprehensive quality-control reviews of architectural plans and Construction Documents for accuracy and constructibility.
• Develop and maintain architectural/drafting standards and pattern books to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Provide design direction and technical guidance to CAD technicians and other team members.
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consultants to resolve issues and keep documents coordinated.
• Lead design development workflows to increase speed, accuracy, and scalability across the organization.
• Protect company intellectual property and proprietary design content.
