Job summary

Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. seeks a Design Consultant to create personalized design solutions and sell our furniture and services in a full-time design center. You will greet clients, conduct in-home consultations, and use digital tools to present and close design projects.

You’ll leverage social media, stay on top of design trends, and collaborate with the design team to deliver exceptional service pre- and post-sale. A strong sales mindset and design background are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience.
• Minimum of one year of practical interior design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a design-related field.
• Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques.
• Working knowledge of online sales and design tools.
• Good listening skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of social media and grass-roots marketing to develop a book of business.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Intermediate skill with digital floor planning technology; 3D applications a plus.
• Experience using AR/VR visualization tools.
• Willing to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Create design solutions aligned with customer budget and preferences.
• Sell Ethan Allen products and services.
• Represent the brand in customer interactions and conduct in-home consultations.
• Utilize social media to develop and grow the business.
• Educate customers about complimentary design services.
• Stay current on design and color trends.
• Coordinate with the team to provide exceptional pre- and post-sale service.
• Participate in corporate marketing and training programs.
• Explain financing options offered by Ethan Allen.
• Contribute to the design center’s portfolio upkeep.
• Utilize technology to design, present, and service projects.
• Enter orders using the retail POS system.
• Maintain a neat and orderly design center space.
• Work with leaders to develop business and grassroots plans.
• Use 3-D Room Planner, CRM, Live Chat to build project volume.
• Leverage social media to heighten Ethan Allen’s presence.
• Build professional network through platforms like LinkedIn.
• Perform other duties as required.
