Job summary

Turner & Townsend seeks a Design Consultant to bridge client requirements with architectural delivery across the project lifecycle. You will collaborate with project management and external architectural practices to shape the built environment for our clients.

You will ensure design solutions align with business objectives, budgets, and quality standards while coordinating with internal teams and external consultants.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.F.A. in Interior Design from a CIDA/NAAB curriculum or a B.A. or M.A. in Architecture from an accredited curriculum.
• NCIDQ certification or architectural registration is preferred.
• 1 to 5 years of experience in commercial project design, construction, or project management.
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Sophisticated knowledge of financial terms and ability to conduct budget analysis.
• Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations to clients, management, and project teams.
• Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and industry-standard procurement processes.
• Ability to collaborate with external consultants and internal stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the performance of external design consultants from appointment through construction administration.
• Ensure all design deliverables adhere to client branding, functional requirements, and sustainability goals.
• Conduct design reviews at key milestones to verify compliance with the project brief and technical specifications.
• Facilitate value engineering while maintaining design integrity and quality.
• Provide early warnings for potential design schedule delays and implement mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate between internal stakeholders, project managers, and the design team to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Manage the documentation process for permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Represent the client’s interests during design meetings to align with the project vision.
• Develop and deliver architectural briefs based on collected business and stakeholder requirements.
