Job summary

Fs-Builder-Resources is seeking a Designer to lead efficient, well-organized design appointments, guiding buyers through the selection process while maintaining alignment with budget, and educating clients on products that best suit their lifestyle.

This role prepares and finalizes all design documentation and drawings for builders, coordinating finishes such as tile, cabinetry, paint, carpet, hardwood, and countertops, in close collaboration with builders, clients, and fellow designers.

Qualifications

• Degree or certification in interior design or 3+ years in flooring sales or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience working in a design center or with home builders (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead efficient, well-organized design appointments guiding buyers through selection.
• Prepare and finalize design documents and drawings for builders.
• Coordinate finishes (tile, cabinetry, paint, carpet, hardwood, countertops) with builders and clients.

WHO WE ARE
FS Builder Resources and Flooring Services are the largest privately held interior finishes company servicing the homebuilding industry for over 40yrs. We provide cabinets, countertops, flooring, lighting, stairs, trim, doors, and window coverings for production, semi-custom, and custom home builders.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Designer is responsible for leading efficient, well-organized design appointments, guiding buyers through the selection process while maintaining alignment with budget, and educating clients on products that best suit their lifestyle and needs. This role is key in delivering a positive, seamless, and memorable customer experience.
The Designer prepares and finalizes all design documentation and drawings for builders ensuring accuracy and completeness. This position collaborates closely with builders, clients, and designers to select and coordinate finishes, including tile, cabinetry, paint, carpet, hardwood, and countertops.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS

• Create comprehensive computer-generated elevations and diagrams to convey intended tile designs
• Develop strong relationships with builders and sales personnel
• Ensure accurate details of design documents are communicated to all parties involved
• Manage multiple projects of varying budgets, sizes, and scales
• Maintain strong organizational skills to track all moving parts of each project
• Remain calm under pressure and when issues arise
• Set clear expectations for clients (pricing, timelines, scope of work, product performance)
• Guide clients confidently through the design process
• Understand products specified in the home (carpet, hardwood, tile, etc.)
• Read and interpret floor plans
