Job Description:

About the Role:

This remote position involves mechanical design work for gas transmission and distribution facilities, with occasional field visits andon-site meetings in Jackson, Michigan. TheDesign Technician IIwill focus on creating efficient and high-quality designs for gas facility reliability, relocation, and capacity projects, working closely with engineers.

Responsibilities

• 
  Design gas distribution systems for customer relocation, capacity, or reliability improvement projects.
  


• 
  Utilize CAD software, specifically Bentley OpenPlant or MicroStation, for design work.
  


• 
  Track project progress using spreadsheets and/or databases.
  


• 
  Create projects/orders and manage material procurement in SAP.
  


• 
  Collect field notes outdoors, sometimes in remote or difficult-to-access locations.
  

Education Qualification:

• 
  An associate degree in a relevant scientific or technical field is preferred. Significant relevant design experience may be considered in lieu of a technical degree.
  

Required Skills

• 
  Advanced computer and application knowledge.

  Strong communication skills for clear and precise design documentation.
